Meeting Reminder:  Wednesday, July 26, 2017

CV CAD Group,

June’s meeting topic, presented by David Hunsucker of The Drone Company Virginia, showed us, among other things, the technical aspects of Drones. David gave us a demonstration of his devices in the local parking lot. He showed the capabilities of several of his drones including height, speed, video and still frame capture and hovering ability. He explained the battery usage as well as gov’t regulations and limitations of usage. Instead of standard ground level shots of potential projects in whatever discipline is involved, bird’s eye shots and video can be included in the presentation. David’s email contact is dhunsucker@thedronecoova.com for further information. Feel free to contact him about any projects you may have.

This month, our own Nick Hinebaugh will present a brief overview of three different projects involving both Civil CAD and REVIT models. The projects are:

The Steward School – Modification to existing wet pond.
This project was a high level concept plan for the modification of the existing wet pond located at The Steward School. Modifications were proposed to convert the existing wet pond into an area that could be utilized as an outdoor class room.

The Virginia War Memorial – Expansion / DVS Offices and Parking Deck.
The project consists of the construction of a building addition and 3 level parking deck.

The National Museum for the United States Army at Fort Belvoir, VA
(This is the official webpage for the project. It includes a movie that outlines the scope of the project.)

Q&A session will follow.
